Issue Position

As a Delegate I have worked to provide balanced solutions to the challenges facing Maryland. I have strived to set policy goals that put Maryland on a path to provide opportunities and resources for everyone. Health care, education, transportation, housing, natural resources, the environment and many other areas are all important to our future.

That is why I have sponsored bills to improve housing management at Homeowner Associations and Condominiums, to make the tax code fairer, and to protect the fisheries in the Chesapeake Bay. I have worked with colleagues across the State to improve access to education, to improve the transportation system, to hold down costs at Maryland Universities, and support many other important issues. In my first year in the legislature I supported the bill that prohibited smoking in Maryland's restaurants. I was a cosponsor of the Marriage Equality legislation. I have worked in Annapolis to protect the Chesapeake Bay from wastewater and runoff and cosponsored the Governor's legislation to increase wildlands in Maryland.

Two well known organizations, the Gazette and the League of Women Voters have made questionnaires available to all candidates. These responses are available from the respective organizations and provide an excellent way to prepare for the upcoming primary.
